FLAMIN'
Calling all Flamers!

We Got Us A Challenge Here again this year!

The Women's Flamin' Buick Club has issued a challenge to all you Flamers. They will NOT be in the Flame Throwing Contest this year . . . BUT, after the contest, if you want to take up the challenge, you could win $50.00 by beating "The Flamin' Lady".

(You can click on any of the pictures on this page to get a better view)

(No injectors, or other artificial means of flaming)

Don't be fooled guys, she is goood.

OK, got your interest? Let's meet the "One and Only 'Flamin' Lady' . . Sharon Webb"

Sharon was born in . . . let's not go there. Let's just let Sharon tell her own story. Here is what she sent me recently.

"I know for sure that I have won over 60 trophies over the years for the flamethrowing - starting with my 58 Caddy - the skeeter fogger!!!  I have been flamethrowing for almost 15 years - practice makes perfect, you know.  And I need to keep practicing!!!  About a year after my husband (and mechanic), Virn, got married, we went to a car show in Illinois.  At that show, they had a flamethrowing demo and "The Torch" was there - it was a 56 Vikki - injected to the max - but was the first I had ever seen.  I looked at Virn and told him that if we EVER got a car, we had to have flamethrowers on it.  I had two mentors - Everett Lane from IL and Clive with the 50 Ford from Adams/Friendship - we all know Clive!!!  Both of them gave me a few tips to get started and I just kept going from there.

I love the competition - but I mainly do it to give the crowds a real show.  I've been known to go through an entire tank of gas in an evening to make the people happy.  Makes my heart feel good!!!  I will never give up the flamethrowing even though I am not able to drive now due to a knee and back injury I suffered in Jan. of 2000 - I can still do the flamethrowing thanks to my husband who keeps my Buick in tiptop shape.

I detest those that inject - it's too dangerous and volatile and not true to the real spirit of flamethrowing.  Pam, the other member of WFBC, (Women's Flamin' Buick Club) feels as I do.  That's about it - and in the words of Paul Harvey - now you know the rest of the story - but the story isn't finished yet and won't be for a long time.  I do want to thank all the people that have encouraged and helped me over the past - the best show around - Spud City Nat's - thanks for taking the show home where it belongs and keeping up the spirit of what "car people" are all about!!!"

Thanks Sharon, It's "car people" like you who make Spud City Mashionals what it is. We are hoping Sharon can talk Pam Hernandez (The Hot Tamale') into joining us this year.  Here are some picture of the two of them putting on a show that you won't believe until you see it with your own eyes!

These ladies are serious about their club. Ask them to show you their tattoos. They are always looking or new members. Qualifications are: you must have a Flamethrowing Buick and of course be a Woman.

Before her injury, Sharon used to come to the contest dressed as an "Old Lady". Maybe this year she can continue the tradition. I know she will give us a great show. I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who will give her a run for the money.
